CHULA VISTA – Today, the Chula Vista Police Officers Association released a video setting the record straight regarding which candidate for Mayor is truly the choice of local law enforcement.
“Throughout this entire election cycle, there have been candidates who are not endorsed by the Chula Vista Police Officers Association who are claiming to be the candidate endorsed by law enforcement,” said David Oyos, President of the Chula Vista Police Officers Association. “It’s important that voters are informed and ignore the intentional disinformation that spreads during campaign season.
“John McCann is the only candidate endorsed by Chula Vista Police Officers, the local law enforcement agency handling law enforcement duties for the City of Chula Vista,” continued Oyos. “The CVPOA has not endorsed nor do we support any other candidate for Mayor.”
In addition to having the support of the CVPOA, John McCann is also endorsed by the San Diego Police Officers Association, the El Cajon Police Officers Association, the San Diego County Probation Officers Association, and the San Diego/Imperial County Chapter and Statewide Chapter of the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC) which is the largest law enforcement organization in California and the largest statewide association in the nation. John McCann is also endorsed by the National Latino Peace Officers Association advocacy group.
We urge Chula Vista voters to share this information with friends, family and neighbors so they are not misled about who Chula Vista Police Officers support.
