Omicron is Better Than Delta

The Omicron variant has now spread through South Africa, Botswana, Denmark, the UK, and the US. It has public officials on high alert as we head into another winter season that could see another string of lockdowns similar to those during the start of the pandemic. But even with a working vaccine thanks to President Trump’s Operation Warp Speed, public health officials refuse to let the pandemic end.

Dr. Wilma Wooten, San Diego County’s public health officer, encouraged more people to get booster shots despite the 2.4 million fully vaccinated people already here in San Diego County. “The booster shot will help you from getting sick and making others ill, especially during the holidays when people tend to gather indoors,” explained Wooten.

She’s not the only one pushing more vaccine madness, as Dr. Davey Smith of UCSD wants San Diegans to take booster shots to protect themselves against the Omicron variants. However, when talking about the four groups of people: unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, fully vaccinated, and those with boosters, he believes that the fourth group is at the lowest risk of getting Omicron.

But he’s ignoring one crucial detail, the fact that when viral strains emerge, they are more transmissible but less deadly than previous variants. That means that while you can catch Omicron easier than Delta, Omicron has a lower chance of hospitalizing or killing you.

Also, let’s not forget that eventually, people will boycott inoculation because there will always be yet another booster shot everyone needs. If endless jabs and the end goal, get ready for more and more residents to say no and get back to living their everyday lives.
