Today, Monday, March 22nd, is the last day to request a mail in ballot for the special primary election for the 79th Assembly District seat. Additionally, registration forms need to be postmarked or delivered to the Registrar by today. Voters are able to register online until midnight tonight.
If you miss the deadline to request a mail in ballot for the special election, you’ll need to drive out to the Registrar’s office in Kearny Mesa or go to your local polling place to register and vote.
The lone Republican in the race is Marco Contreras and he is a phenomenal candidate. Marco was born in San Diego but grew up across the border in Tijuana, Mexico. America has given him the unlimited opportunities to succeed since he arrived, which no other country would have allowed him to do. He is now a successful business owner. Marco wants to celebrate the American Dream and make sure our future generations can experience the goodness and opportunity of our country and our city.
Early voting is already underway at the Registrar’s office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m, Monday through Friday.
As a reminder, the special election is only open to those living in the 79th Assembly District, which includes La Mesa and Lemon Grove, southeastern San Diego, part of Chula Vista, National City, and Bonita.
