County Supervisor Candidate Alex Galicia Calls on Sweetwater Union High School District Superintendent to Resign

As a tax-payer centric candidate for District 1 of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors that covers the areas that impact the Sweetwater Union High School district’s staff, students and parents, I am downright shocked at the level of financial ineptness and incompetence currently on display.

I believe Karen Janney has lost any credibility as a financial steward of taxpayer money. Her negligence has so far not only resulted in inevitable cuts to programs as well as staffing levels but also resulted in an SEC investigation! The brunt of these errors will inevitably most severely impact our children as well as their teachers.

Any private industry or military leader that lost track of even a fraction of the public resources involved here would rightfully lose the confidence of those overseeing them and would be asked to submit their resignation.

As a taxpayer that happens to be a Sweetwater High School District alumnus as well as a candidate for District 1 County Board of Supervisors, I say accountability begins at the top. As such, I hereby call for Dr. Karen Janney to voluntarily step down from her post effective immediately!
