California Restaurant Association, San Diego Chapter Endorses Joe Leventhal for City Council

(San Diego, CA) –The San Diego Chapter of the California Restaurant Association today announced their endorsement of Joe Leventhal for San Diego City Council District 5.

The California Restaurant Association is an organization that advocates on behalf of restaurants and provides advanced education, networking, and business-building tools to restaurateurs.

“Joe Leventhal is a decisive leader who will advocate for the many small businesses and restaurants that are part of our organization. The CRA is confident that Joe Leventhal is the right pick for San Diego City Council, District 5,” said Chris Duggan, Director of Local Government Affairs.

“I’m proud to have the endorsement of the California Restaurant Association, San Diego Chapter and I’m eager to work with the CRA to protect the thousands of good paying jobs that are produced by the restaurant industry in San Diego,” said Leventhal.

This latest endorsement adds to an ever-growing list of Leventhal’s supporters. Joe has already been endorsed by San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer, San Diego District 5 City Councilman Mark Kersey, retired San Diego Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman, homeless advocate Father Joe Carroll, San Diego County Board of Education Vice President Mark Powell, San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond, San Diego County Supervisor Dianne Jacob, San Diego City Councilmen Scott Sherman and Chris Cate, the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, the San Diego Association of Realtors, and the Associated Builders and Contractors of San Diego, among others.

Once elected to the San Diego City Council, Joe will prioritize solutions to reduce homelessness, enhance public safety, and expand road repairs. Joe believes that bold, collaborative leadership, as he’s demonstrated throughout his life, is the best way to approach San Diego’s persistent challenges.

The 5th District includes the communities of Black Mountain Ranch, Carmel Mountain Ranch, Scripps Ranch, Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Peñasquitos, Sabre Springs, San Pasqual, and Torrey Highlands. The District’s registration is nearly evenly split between Republicans, Independents, and Democrats.
