Kristie Bruce-Lane, a businesswoman in healthcare with a diverse volunteer background, has announced her bid for the vacant assembly seat in the 2024 election. After being narrowly defeated by five-term Democratic incumbent Maienschein with a mere 5,000 vote lead in the fall of 2022, Kristie is resolutely determined to bring her wealth of experience and dedication to the people of North County.
As the Founder/President of the Thumbprint Project Foundation, Kristie has addressed the homeless endemic in California by helping homeless children who are victims of Childhood Domestic Violence. She also serves as a member of the Homeless Services Sub-Committee for the Salvation Army. Kristie’s passion for helping those in need extends to her work as a member of the California Nursing Home Reform organization. Through direct advocacy, community education, and legislation she continues to educate and support a united voice for long-term care reform.
Kristie is a former-Director of Olivenhain Municipal Water for the San Diego Water Board, where she ensured that San Diego families have access to quality and affordable drinking water amidst the rising threat of California drought. Her commitment to environmental concerns extends also to her former oversight of the Elfin Forest recreational reserve in Escondido, where grasses, trees, and banks continue to serve as carbon sequestration banks.
As a proud Republican candidate, Kristie advocates for tax relief and easing living costs in San Diego while stressing the importance of addressing the rising homelessness crisis. Her fiscal responsibilities within the Water District and negotiations for lowered ratepayer costs will provide valuable insight for California’s State Assembly. Kristie believes her experience working on the issues will enable her to enact effective legislation for the people.
Kristie Bruce-Lane is the Republican candidate committed to helping the homeless and tackling environmental concerns. With her diverse background, Kristie is well-equipped to bring change and make a difference in North County.
