Legislation will save lives, protecting animals from euthanasia
SACRAMENTO, Calif., February 6, 2023 – Assemblyman Bill Essayli will hold a press conference to announce legislation aimed at protecting pets from euthanasia, helping ensure every adoptable pet has the chance to find a home.

Shoshi Gamliel, Owner of Underdog Heroes Rescue, the rescue that tried rescue Bowie last year before he was tragically, suddenly euthanized
WHY:
Last year, a puppy named Bowie was suddenly euthanized at a Los Angeles County animal shelter, even after he was selected for adoption by a rescue. Every adoptable pet deserves an opportunity to find a loving home before they are euthanatized at a shelter. Asm. Essayli will be announcing new legislation to prevent what happened to Bowie from happening again.
VISUALS:
The press conference will be held in front of an animal shelter where there will be volunteers handling adoptable dogs as a backdrop. Asm. Essayli will be interacting with the animals before and after the presser. Asm. Essayli’s rescue dog, Zoe, will also be at the presser.
