Carlsbad, CA – This year marks The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce centennial year as an official organization, having been established in 1923. In recognition of this milestone, the Carlsbad Chamber is excited to announce Centennial Celebrations taking place throughout this year.
Historically, the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce stayed small for only a couple of years before exploding. Since the Chamber preceded the official incorporation of the City of Carlsbad by almost 30 years – and county government was 35 miles away in San Diego – the Carlsbad Chamber quickly became the voice of the community. The early success of the Carlsbad Chamber grew from the inspired leadership and strong leadership continues to guide the Carlsbad Chamber to this day.
Carlsbad Chamber President and CEO, Bret Schanzenbach highlights, “To celebrate our 100-year heritage we have three specific events planned: A birthday party on February 8 to thank our members and leaders; a community block party on August 18 to thank the community; and a red-carpet gala on October 13 to raise money for our foundation.”
“The birthday party will recognize current and former staff, members, leaders, and dignitaries as we ring in our 100th year. The block party will be hosted in association with the City of Carlsbad’s summer finale of TGIF Concerts In The Park. The Gala will benefit the Carlsbad Chamber Community Foundation with silent and live auction, entertainment, dancing, and surprises.”
