Gas prices continue to soar as San Diego County has hit a record high at an average of $4.645 per gallon. This marks the highest gas prices since December 4 of last year, and with Democrats governing the county, expect even more expensive fees for gas. But San Diego isn’t the only county in California to experience such trends.
Other counties across the state are seeing price markups for gas, such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Mateo, Orange, Ventura, Napa, Sonoma, Monterey San Benito, and Santa Clara, to name a few. Each of these counties has an average of $4.681-$5.532 per gallon. All counties had higher average prices than the state average which currently sits at $4.649 per gallon. The current national average is $3.399, which is $1.25 less than California.
But urban areas aren’t the only ones with high prices. In fact, rural areas like Mono and Inyo have seen a spike in gas costs. For example, Inyo has an average of $4.852 per gallon, and Mono has a much higher gas price at $5.532 per gallon. In Northern California, Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties all had average gas prices higher than the state average, with $4.964, $4.886 and $4.767 per gallon respectively. Only one county, Alpine, had no data listed.
This just shows that both Democratic and Republican areas are suffering under Gavin Newsom’s reign as governor. If Republicans ran California, the gas would be affordable, and more importantly, we wouldn’t be losing population while red states gain more power in the electoral college.
