LA County to Provide all Super Bowl LVI Attendees with KN-95 Mask

The County of Los Angeles has announced that it will be giving every person in attendance at next month’s Super Bowl at SoFi Stadium a KN-95 mask. Fans will also be given frequent reminders that masks are required to be worn in the stadium at all times, except for while eating or drinking.

Los Angeles County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said, “For the past three months, (Department of Public Health) staff have been working closely with the NFL and SoFi Stadium to plan for an exciting and safe Super Bowl experience in LA for fans, residents and workers.”

Los Angeles County in partnership with the NFL will also be distributing free COVID-19 rapid tests and COVID-19 vaccines at the Super Bowl Experience attraction, which begins February 5 and will last for two weekends. This event will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center and everyone who receives a vaccination will be given free admission to the Convention Center event. All attendees to the Super Bowl Attraction will be given a free COVID-19 rapid test to take home.

According to Ferrer, the County of Los Angeles expects to disperse an estimated 60,000 rapid tests at the Convention Center event. Ferrer also says that public health staff will be present at all Super Bowl-related events to ensure compliance with mask requirements.

“Masks are required at all times to enter all of the events, to be in common areas, to purchase at concession stands and at indoor shops,” Ferrer said, “The NFL will also be urging all fans to celebrate safely wherever they’ll be gathering, and will offer attendees at the Super Bowl Experience at the L.A. Convention Center a free test kit to take home with messaging to test before gathering for the big game.”

All Super Bowl-related events will comply with vaccination and testing requirements set forth by the State of California and the County of Los Angeles. Super Bowl LVI will take place on Sunday, February 13, 2022.
