San Diego County Supervisor Lines Officially Set

Written by Nathaniel Mannor

Although Congressional, State Senate and state Assembly districts are still in the making, San Diego County Board and Supervisors’ districts are finalized and immediately take effect. Each state redraws the borders of every state and local district every ten years per the Census, so each elected official represents the same number of people as everyone else.

District 1, represented by Nora Vargas, is now the first majority Latino district in the county, with 61.4% of the population of Latino heritage. District 1 encompasses Chula Vista, National City, Imperial Beach, and other unincorporated areas.

Next up is Joel Anderson from District 2. His district covers the eastern part of San Diego County, with El Cajon, Poway, Santee, and other unincorporated parts squarely under his supervision.

Terra Lawson-Remer comes from District 3, spanning the coastal area of the county. She represents high population areas stretching from Carlsbad to Coronado.

Up next is none other than Public Enemy Number 1, Mr. Lorena Gonzales (he also goes by Nathan Fletcher). This loathsome man comes to us from the 4th district, including San Diego, Lemon Grove, La Mesa, and other unincorporated areas surrounding these cities.

Rounding out the districts is Jim Desmond from the 5th district. He represents the northern county areas such as Escondido, Oceanside, San Marcos, Vista, and the unincorporated regions around these places.

Both Desmond and Fletcher will be up for re-election in 2022 while Vargas, Lawson-Remer, and Anderson will face re-election in 2024.
