Biden Flies Away To Massachusetts As Americans Struggle With Rising Prices this Holiday Season

Written by William Hekman

This Thanksgiving, the First Family will be jetting off to Nantucket, Massachusetts, staying at the home of billionaire David Rubenstein, a co-founder of the Carlyle Group. But with a number of economic issues plaguing the nation such as the supply crisis and inflation, many Republicans are criticizing Biden’s choice of housing for his trip.

Inflation has hit a three-decade high under the Biden administration. Thanksgiving as a whole will cost 14% more than it did one year ago according to the American Farm Bureau Federation. A deeper dive into the numbers shows how much Biden’s policies and failures are truly hurting Americans this holiday season. Turkey is up 24% from last year and chicken has increased 26% from last year according to the Labor Department. Rather than be sympathetic to the average American, the White House seems to not really care about the issue. When asked about the message Biden’s vacation sends to Americans, Press Secretary Jen Psaki shrugged off the question, saying that turkeys only cost a dollar more.

Psaki’s answer and Biden’s trip have both received criticism. While Republicans have been the most vocal, some Democrats have joined in the criticism. RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel tweeted, “As Biden spends Thanksgiving in ritzy Nantucket, food pantries around the country are struggling to serve those most in need because of his rising prices and supply chain crisis,”. The left’s criticism is on the association to David Rubenstein. Rubenstein is a co-founder of the Carlyle Group. Virginia Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin previously worked as the co-chief executive of the Carlyle Group before his election. Left- wing MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan tweeted, “Hey Siri, why weren’t the Dems able to land any populist attacks on former Carlyle CEO Glenn Youngkin in Virginia?’ Youngkin delivered a crushing blow to the Democrats when he defeated former Governor and head of the DNC Terry McAuliffe earlier this month.

This is certainly not a good look for Biden and the Democrats who cover for him. Coupling this trip with his constant trips back to his two homes in Delaware,  he is continuously perceived as out of touch with most Americans.
