Last Migrants Depart Del Rio Camp

The bridge located in Del Rio, Texas, was closed on Sept.17 due to 15,000 Haitian migrants trying to get into the United States. The last remaining migrants departed a makeshift camp just before noon local time on Friday. This issue is drawing the attention of national leaders: Alejandro Mayorkas visited the bridge on Monday (9/20), and the U.S. Border Patrol Chief visited Sunday (9/19).

Texas congressman Tony Gonzales believes the U.S. could face “another 9/11-type event” due to the Biden administration’s incompetent way of handling the Southern border. “There is a national security event that is just brewing,” Gonzales said about the
thousands of Haitian migrants who remain beneath a bridge in Del Rio, Texas.

Daniel Foote wrote Secretary of State Antony Blinken that he was stepping down immediately “with deep disappointment and apologies to those seeking crucial changes.” He continued by stating, “our policy approach to Haiti remains deeply
flawed, and my policy recommendations have been ignored and dismissed, when not edited to project a narrative different from my own.” The career diplomat was known to be deeply frustrated with what he considered a lack of urgency in Washington to improve conditions in Haiti.

Biden’s approach to the southern border has been broadly criticized across the board. He continues to disregard the importance of having a strong border policy as he continues to let illegal immigration sweep throughout the nation. He has neglected even to visit the southern border himself, as he continues to ignore this issue, as with every other problem he has caused in our nation.
