On Friday, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina stated that Pres. Biden “deserves to be impeached” if the U.S. continues to leave any American or Afghan allies behind during the evacuations. “If we leave any Americans behind–if we leave thousands of those Afghans who fought along our side behind bravely–Joe Biden deserves to be impeached for a higher crime and misdemeanor of dereliction of duty,” stated Graham on the news.
Sen. Graham also claimed that the United States is bound by duty and honor to return the Americans and Afghan allies who fought with our soldiers during the two-decade war. The Senator also pointed out that the French and British governments have expressed their willingness to send their troops and forces to evacuate their citizens and allies.
President Joe Biden and his administration have irresponsibly pulled out our troops from Afghanistan without considering what will be left behind and potentially taken from the Taliban. He also neglected to assess U.S. citizens’ safety in Afghanistan and the allies who helped out during the war. No matter what excuse the Biden administration can muster up, it is clear, and he had no plan to account for the Taliban. A tremendous error for our “Commander in Chief.”
With all things considered, Sen. Graham has rightfully called for Biden’s impeachment. Not only did the President fail to protect and successfully evacuate Americans and allies in the country, but he was also the cause of this terrible situation we, and the rest of the world, are currently facing.
