If you can’t beat them, join them, as the old saying goes. Everyone wants to be part of the intersectional mob despite claiming that they are the most oppressed group of people today and throughout all human history. To justify their place in the hierarchy, many people have invented new sexual identities for themselves. This madness has spread so far it’s even reached our elected officials.
This past week Michaela Kennedy-Cuomo, daughter of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, came out as demisexual on Instagram Live. She explained to Donato Tramuto, author and activist, that, “When I was in elementary school, I feared that I was lesbian. When I was in middle school, I came out to my family and close friends as bisexual. When I was in high school, I discovered pansexuality and thought, ‘That’s the flag for me.’” “I’ve recently learned more about demisexuality and have believed that that identity resonates with me most.”
Demisexuality is when a person only feels attracted when an emotional bond forms, which means that you are a member of a minority sexuality movement if you have feelings for your crush. Does this mean that a man who only feels attracted to women but has an emotional bond with his significant other is suddenly demisexual? Usually, this man would be classified as straight. The problem here is that everyone could be seen as demisexual due to emotional attachment, meaning that demisexuality is no longer a sexual minority. Furthermore, this definition reduces straightness to purely physical attraction, believing that no straight person could ever feel love towards another.
Smearing all non-demisexual people as lustful and sex-obsessed is problematic because it paints a false picture of other sexualities. Also, when people believe that they are wrong, they tend to act out on those ideas. The Left is no stranger to helping people see the worst in themselves. For example, their insistence that all white people are racist led to many white Americans joining the alt-right because the Left made them believe they were racist. Ironically, the Left claims to strive for inclusion, but they keep up that illusion by excluding everyone who dares think for themselves.
