Biden puts California’s Kamala Harris and Xavier Becerra in charge of immigration issues

President Biden has managed to make the already pitiful conditions at the US-Mexico border even worse by allowing two Californians to lead the national effort to reform the immigration system.

Vice President Kamala Harris is in charge of diplomatic efforts with Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras to discuss “root causes of migration,” and Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra has been given management over shelters for undocumented children.

Secretary Becerra has already opened up the San Diego Convention Center to house migrant children.

In addition to that, the state of California has spent around $28 million on services for asylum seekers, including food, medical care, and transportation.

Despite California Democrat Nathan Fletcher’s statement that “[it is the State’s] obligation… to make sure we give these children an opportunity to see the best of America,” it is not in the government’s responsibility to help illegal immigrants at the expense of hardworking, taxpaying Americans.

California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa said, “[The state] is paying an extraordinary price for the Biden administration’s border crisis, and every day the monetary cost and human suffering only increases.”

So far, Rep. Issa is one of the few voices of reason in California who is protecting the interests of legal American citizens.

Considering that California is notorious for not only allowing but catering to illegal immigrants, the authority given to Vice President Harris and Secretary Becerra will only lead to more favoring of illegal aliens over American citizens.

If the border crisis is ever to be solved, the task needs to be left up to figures such as Rep. Issa who will make decisions with the American people, and their hard-earned tax dollars, in mind.
