Gas prices are going up! Within the last week, gas prices have gone up 11 cents; the largest increase since March 6, 2020.
“According to Oil Price Information Service, fuel demand on the West Coast is 20% lower than a year ago and gas stations have seen their traffic and revenue reduced, giving them more incentive to raise gas prices and keep them at higher levels,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
According to GasBuddy, the national average for the price of gas has risen 19 cents, going up to $2.44 per gallon. California has the highest average rate in the country at $3.40 per gallon. This is thanks to the state’s extreme gas tax that has been pushed by Gov. Newsom and other state democrats.
And it gets worse. California gas stations are getting ready to make their annual switch from winter to summer-blended fuel, which is even more expensive.
