It’s Veterans Day and San Diego News Desk thanks all of our military hero’s for their sacrifice and commitment to this country!
San Diego is a great place to be for Veterans Day! The U.S Navy’s Leap Frogs will be skydiving this morning and will land on the flight deck of the USS Midway Museum in Downtown.
Also, despite COVID, the Midway Museum has some events planned including:
- An art exhibit on the hangar deck featuring patriotically inspired artwork
- A blood drive on the Navy Pier operated by the the San Diego Blood Bank. (Donors get a free ticket to the museum while supplies last)
Veterans, active-duty service members and up to two family members will get free admission on Veterans Day (must provide ID or proof of service upon entrance)
Also, Fleet Week San Diego’s Veterans Day Boat Parade is at 10 a.m. and is expected to pass by the USS Midway Museum at approximately noon.
For anyone who’s looking to be COVID conscious, there will be a special Veterans Day online Broadcast, “Destination Midway”, in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II. It will begin at 12:30 and can be watched by clicking here.
Once again, thank you to all of the courageous veterans out there and we hope you have a happy and healthy Veterans Day this year!
