CalChamber Recognizes Senate Republicans with High Marks for Supporting Businesses

SACRAMENTO – The California Chamber of Commerce (CalChamber) recently recognized Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield) and members of the Senate Republican Caucus for their support of California’s job creators outlined in CalChamber’s 2020 Vote Record. Leader Grove and the Republican Caucus earned high marks from the non-profit organization which represents more than 14,000 businesses in California. Senate Republican Leader Grove released the following statement:

“I am proud of the Republican Caucus for standing up for job creators around the state. Small businesses in the Golden State are truly the economic engine that makes California the fifth largest economy in the world. Californians need support more than ever – millions are unemployed and more than 14,000 businesses are closed permanently.

“Sacramento Democrats’ radical policies have hurt our job creators across the state and Senate Republicans will continue to advocate for these employers and the families who rely on them,” said Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove.

The CalChamber’s legislative scorecard ranks lawmakers on their stances related to the businesses and the economy. For the 2020 legislative session, CalChamber highlighted several major bills which are labeled as either a “priority” or a “job killer,” including Senate Bill 1383 which places a significant burden on job creators with five or fewer employees to give time-off and Assembly Bill 3216 that requires new COVID-19 employment leave mandate.
