Candidate Profile: Travis Lyon for Alpine Union School District

Written by Nicholas Vetrisek

Travis Lyon is the Republican Party of San Diego County’s endorsed candidate for Alpine Union School District.

He is currently the incumbent candidate and is also the president of the board. Under Lyon’s leadership, the Alpine Union School District has made great strides towards providing a better education for students in East County.

One of Travis’ priorities is to continue promoting fiscal responsibility for the district. With declining enrollment numbers and the damage caused by COVID-19, it has become more important than ever to ensure that the AUSD Board delivers quality education without overburdening taxpayers.

Travis has the support of many leaders across East County, including State Senator Brian Jones and San Diego County Supervisor Dianne Jacob. His dedication to putting students first has earned support from elected officials and families alike, showing the appreciation that the community has for Lyon’s efforts.

“Travis has proven himself to be a committed member of his community,” said Supervisor Jacob. “As the father of a young family with ties to Alpine, I know he will be an excellent advocate for our schools.”

With Lyon’s leadership, the Alpine Union School District will continue to provide a quality education for East County students.
