Written by Riley Gould

David Vincent is the Republican Party of San Diego County’s endorsed candidate for Palomar College Board of Trustees Area 3.

David has a B.S. in Microbiology as well as a Master’s Degree and Ph.D. in Public Health. His career has consisted of being part of  San Diego’s biotechnology industry, where he has helped lead and contribute to the development of lifesaving medical creations and innovations. Vincent is the CEO of VTL Life Sciences. His most recent efforts include being at the forefront to help find treatments and create a successful vaccination for COVID-19.

Because of his experience leading a business, David is extremely passionate about mentoring and giving advice to the next generation. This brought him to the path of becoming a professor at San Diego State University. At SDSU, Vincent teaches the Masters in Regulatory Affairs Program.

Vincent’s family is actively engaged in volunteering in North County and all over the world. They have helped with Meals on Wheels for seniors, missions abroad to help save endangered species, consulting on global disease prevention, working with the Infectious Disease Society of America, and helping veterans in need through AMVETS.

Dave’s wife, Franora, works as an educational aide, helping students with special needs at Escondido Union School District. His two eldest daughters graduated from UC Davis and John Paul the Great Catholic University, with his youngest daughter currently attending Palomar College.

One reason why Vincent is running is to bring his business knowledge and many years of experience to Palomar to prevent the brink of insolvency. He will ensure that the community’s tax and tuition dollars are being used wisely. Comprehensive and systemic reforms to the enrollment, scheduling, facilities, and accounting systems on campus are improvements that can be made to get costs under control. He is a firm believer that the power of education can change lives for the better.

David is well-suited to handle the challenge that COVID-19 poses, and has shown the skills needed to help Palomar make rational, educated, and science-based decisions during these difficult times.

Vincent is supported by State Senator Brian Jones, State Assemblywoman Marie Waldron, San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond, former San Diego City Councilman Carl DeMaio, Escondido City Councilman Mike Morasco, and more.
