Mike Morasco is the Republican Party of San Diego County’s endorsed candidate for Escondido City Council District 4. He is the incumbent candidate and is seeking another term to represent the Escondido community.
Morasco is directly responsible for the city’s balanced budget. If re-elected, he will continue supporting the funding of the Escondido Police Department’s anti-gang operations and drunk driving abatement measures. Mike is also a dedicated fiscal conservative who has proven his ability to lead by standingup for Escondido taxpayers, even when he was standing alone.
In July, a proposed sales tax increase was being voted on that would tie Escondido’s tax rate with the highest in the county. Morasco was the sole vote against the tax, noting that families and businesses were already struggling enough amid the pandemic and shutdowns. Morasco has shown that he is not afraid to support the people of Escondido, even if he is on his own.
He has been endorsed by numerous figures and organizations, including former Congressman Darrell Issa, State Assemblywoman Marie Waldron, County Supervisors Kristin Gaspar and Jim Desmond, former Escondido Mayor Sam Abed, Escondido Police Department Chaplain Joe Garcia, former San Diego City Councilman Carl DeMaio, The Mercado Business Association, Lincoln Club of San Diego County, Escondido Police Officers’ Association, Building Industry Association of San Diego County, and many more.
Morasco has already done an excellent job as city councilman, and if re-elected will continue advancing the interests of the Escondido community. In a time of crisis with COVID-19 and the economic recession resulting from it, his leadership is greatly needed.
