Joe Leventhal’s endorsement list has been growing by the week, and for good reason—he’s certainly one of the brightest stars in San Diego County. This week, San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore announced his endorsement of Joe Leventhal for San Diego City Council District 5.
“I’m supporting Joe Leventhal for City Council because he is committed to working hand in hand with our region’s law enforcement to keep our communities safe and secure,” said Sheriff Gore. “Joe appreciates the very difficult and dangerous job we ask our officers to do every day and I strongly believe we can count on him to bring law enforcement and our underserved communities together so San Diego can remain the safest big city in the nation.”
Leventhal’s supporters are certainly numerous and notable. He has already been endorsed by San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer, San Diego City Councilmen Mark Kersey and Chris Cate, retired San Diego Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman, homeless advocate Father Joe Carroll, the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, the San Diego Association of Realtors, the Associated General Contractors of America, San Diego Chapter, and the Associated Builders and Contractors of San Diego, and more.
“I’m proud to have the endorsement of Sheriff Gore, a native San Diegan and veteran law enforcement professional,” said Leventhal. “Now more than ever it is important for elected officials and law enforcement officers to work together to find solutions to the safety and social concerns of our communities.”
