San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond brought more good news to the citizens of San Diego in his recent COVID-19 update.
Over the past week, San Diego saw its highest COVID-19 testing day, with 6,700 people being tested for COVID-19. Out of that number, only two percent tested positive. Overall, 4.1% of people have tested positive in San Diego County, which is an encouraging statistic for our county. Supervisor Desmond praised San Diego for continuing to stay safe and abide by disease prevention guidelines.
New guidelines were recently released by Gov. Gavin Newsom for personal services, such as salons, aestheticians, and tattoo parlors to reopen. Awaiting approval by the County Health officer, this plan will hopefully allow San Diego’s personal service businesses to reopen—another great step on the road to full reopening.

Desmond has been pushing for these steps over the past month, and will continue to spearhead the recovery effort throughout the summer.
San Diego is eager to return to normal, but it won’t happen overnight. Thankfully, we’ve got great elected officials like Supervisor Desmond who are willing to do what it takes to help San Diego take on the road to recovery, all while keeping it safe and classy.
