Many San Diegans out and about on Memorial Day weekend were pleasantly surprised to find some of their favorite shops and restaurants officially reopened. Many were open for in-person shopping and dining, so long as proper social distancing protocol was followed. This huge step in reopening San Diego was taken thanks to the efforts of many elected officials, one of the spearheads being San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer.
Faulconer recently announced the executive order allowing dining in accordance with social distancing protocols.
I’ve signed a new executive order authorizing dining in restaurants in @CityofSanDiego consistent with regional public health orders and safety protocols. Both restaurants and in-store shopping are economic sectors that can NOW SAFELY REOPEN.

Faulconer’s ongoing support for San Diegans looking to return to their lives safely was received with much gratitude from the small business community. Reopening small businesses safely is clearly a step in the right direction for San Diego.
This change wouldn’t have been possible without the diligence and commitment of local leaders like Mayor Faulconer. Now, it’s up to responsible San Diegans to continue proving that we are as classy as our reputation suggests.
