Noli Zosa’s “Winging it Forward” Restaurant Program Providing Thousands of Hot Wings to First Responders

Though our elected officials have been doing an outstanding job of leading the fight against COVID-19, we all play a big role in supporting our community during these trying times. It’s important for us to stand together now more than ever, and to help each other out when we need it.

Recently, San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer gave a shoutout to one particular local business that has gone above and beyond to help out in their own special way.

San Diego City Council District 7 candidate Noli Zosa’s restaurant group, Dirty Birds of Pacific Beach, put together the “Winging It Forward” program to help support San Diego’s first responders, many of whom are on the frontlines of fighting the coronavirus.

For every 20 takeout wings purchased by customers, Dirty Birds will donate 20 wings to a local hospital, medical facility, or first responders group. So far, they’ve donated over 1,000 wings, and brought delicious meals to San Diego Police Department Headquarters, San Diego Fire Stations 10, 11, 25 and 15, Barona Fire Department, AMR Ambulance Service, the Alvarado, Sharp, UCSD ERs, Pomerado Hospital, and Sharp Care Clinic.

Wings may not cure the virus, but they will provide familiar comforts and delicious meals to our amazing first responders. Community outreach programs such as “Winging it Forward” helps everyday citizens who may not be able to donate their time, talent, or treasure find unique ways to give back.
