Republican Party of San Diego County Hosts Christmas Party and Collects Toys for Local Underprivileged Children

Last night, the Republican Party of San Diego County held its annual Christmas Party for Republicans across San Diego. The event was a major success with over 700 attendees excited to celebrate the holidays with one another.

The event was held at Ballast Point Brewing in Mira Mesa, giving everyone an opportunity to enjoy great food and beverages. A number of current and former local elected Republicans were in attendance, including Mayor Kevin Faulconer, Councilman Scott Sherman, former Congressman Darrell Issa, former City Councilman Carl DeMaio, former State Senator Joel Anderson, and many more.

The atmosphere was joyous, as people of all backgrounds gathered to reminisce on the past year while sharing their excitement for 2020. Per usual, many of the conversations revolved around politics and what’s going on around San Diego County, but one of the great things about events like this is that they transcend politics.

Notably, the Party collected toys from attendees to donate to local underprivileged children. While this gesture may be small and only do so much, words can’t describe how much it means to a struggling child—who would otherwise receive nothing for Christmas—to have a new toy. A little effort truly does go a long way, and it’s heartwarming that local Republicans understand that.

Few things in life can compare to having great food with friends and family during the holiday season. While politics is central to the functions of political parties, the Republican Party of San Diego County strives to foster a community that includes the more important things in life—and this was perfectly encapsulated at the Christmas Party last night.
