The El Cajon Police Officers’ Association (ECPOA) has endorsed Brian Jones in his campaign for Congressional District 50.
ECPOA President Travis Howard said, “Once we make an endorsement, we support that candidate all the way. We want the people of El Cajon to know Brian Jones is the choice of law enforcement.”
Jones is the only challenger with roots in the district and the ability to get things done. He grew up in the area and has represented the people of this region as a Santee City Councilmember, State Assemblyman, and currently as a State Senator.
Howard stated, “The highest priority for the citizens of El Cajon is public safety. Jones has done that at the local and state level and he will continue to do that at the federal level. The thin blue line stands behind Brian Jones is his campaign for congress.”
Other currently endorsed candidates are:
- Steve Vaus, County Supervisor District 2
- Randy Voepel for State Assembly
- CJ Mody for Superior Court Seat 18
- Michelle Ialeggio for Superior Court Seat 36
El Cajon is the sixth largest city in San Diego County 17 mi (27 km) east of Downtown San Diego. The city, located in a valley surrounded by mountains, has acquired the nickname of “The Big Box.” Its name originated similarly, from the Spanish phrase “el cajón,” which means “the box” or “the drawer.”
The ECPOA represents the men and women of the El Cajon Police Department who protect and serve the public every minute of every day. Their priorities are protecting the pay, benefits and working conditions of the membership while helping the community through donations, sponsorships and charitable events.
