(San Diego, CA) – San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer has endorsed Noli Zosa for City Council, District 7. The Mayor will also be the special guest of honor at this week’s fundraiser in support of Zosa’s campaign.
“Noli Zosa is a dedicated neighborhood advocate, successful small business owner and problem solver,” said Mayor Faulconer. “He has been a strong voice for his community for almost three decades, volunteering on countless local boards and commissions. Whether it’s street repair or housing affordability or homelessness, I’m confident Noli is the right candidate to tackle San Diego’s big issues.”
“I’m truly honored to have Mayor Faulconer’s support,” said Zosa. “He has done tremendous work in helping San Diego develop modern and innovative solutions to the big issues facing our region. The unifying spirit of his leadership will be felt for many years to come.”
Mayor Faulconer’s endorsement adds to a growing list of supporters for Zosa’s campaign. He has already earned endorsements from retired SD Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman, SD County Sheriff Bill Gore, SD County Supervisor Dianne Jacob, SD County Supervisor Jim Desmond, Father Joe Carroll, SD City Councilmember Chris Cate, the California Restaurant Association, among many others.
District 7 is currently represented by Councilmember Scott Sherman, however he will be termed out in 2020, leaving the seat open. District 7 includes the communities of Miramar, Tierrasanta, Lake Murray, San Carlos, Allied Gardens, Del Cerro, Grantville, Serra Mesa, Mission Valley, and Linda Vista.
Noli, the son of immigrants, obtained both his undergraduate and law school degrees from the University of San Diego. After graduation, he joined his family’s business where he managed a boutique bed and breakfast, wedding facility, and guava tree ranch. In 2008, he became a founding partner of the local restaurant chain Dirty Birds. Noli has helped expand his company to four locations with one additional planned expansion in the next year. Dirty Birds currently employs over 140 people.
