When most people hear about Warner Brothers, their first thought is probably some of their very well-known movies like Harry Potter and American Sniper. But Warner Brothers creates more than just movies, and San Diegans are about to experience something new from them.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is the video game division Warner Brothers Entertainment, and they’re expanding into San Diego with a new game studio. The new studio, WB Games San Diego, will focus specifically on the development of free-to-play mobile games, which have seen a steady increase in interest over the last couple of years.

Warner Bros. President David Haddad described the new studio as “a testament to our continued evolution in the mobile games space as we have grown to become one of the top-grossing mobile games publishers due to the tremendous success of our portfolio, including Game of Thrones: Conquest and Golf Clash.

The studio will be located in Carlsbad, adding to the growing presence of Warner Bros. in the video game market, with locations already operating in several major cities, including Montreal, New York, and San Francisco. Warner Bros. also has interactive subsidiaries, which include AAA Studios in London and NetherRealm in Chicago.

According to the Warner Bros. website, they will offer a multitude of benefits for employees. Some of these perks include a retirement savings program, tuition reimbursement, competitive salaries, and free WB benefits.

New local business is always something to get excited about, and WB Games San Diego is no different. In addition to bringing a big name company to the County, the new studio will also create new jobs and opportunities, which is great for the community.
