SAN DIEGO, CA – Former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer, candidate for San Diego County Supervisor, proudly announced the endorsement of the largest LGBTQIA voter mobilization organization – GLBTQ Vote – in the race for San Diego County Supervisor.
Founded three decades ago by the late businessman John McCusker and City Commissioner Nicole Murray Ramirez, GLBTQ Vote is a nonpartisan committee composed of LGBTQIA business leaders and activists. The organization is dedicated to voter education, registration, and mobilization in the upcoming 2024 election.
“We’re proud to endorse Kevin Faulconer as our choice for County Supervisor,” said Nicole Murray Ramirez, co-founder of GLBTQ Vote. “San Diego needs a hardworking and visible Supervisor who works for all the people and isn’t afraid to take a stand on difficult and controversial issues. Kevin is that person. He has been a consistent ally to our cause, has fought for the same priorities we care about, and has always had our best interests at heart. We can trust him to continue to do the same as our next Supervisor representing the third district.”
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of GLBTQ Vote,” said Former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer. “As Mayor, I stood proudly with San Diego’s LGBTQIA community because every single American, regardless of background, belief, or identity, deserves equal rights and an equal chance to succeed in our country. That’s the same philosophy and belief that I’ll bring as your next Supervisor.”
Since entering the race in July of 2023, Faulconer has outraised incumbent Terra Lawson-Remer, garnering support from local donors and attracting a growing number of endorsements from local organizations. These include the largest police union in the county, The San Diego Police Officers Association, as well as other major organizations such as The San Diego Deputy District Attorneys Association, The San Diego Farm Bureau, San Diego Working Waterfront, The Lincoln Club Business League, San Diego Restaurant Association, Building Industry Association, Associated General Contractors of San Diego, Associated Builders and Contractors of San Diego, and the Greater San Diego Realtors Association.
As Supervisor, Faulconer will lead on pressing issues like reducing homelessness on day one. He will work to clean up the streets and get people the help they need to turn their lives around, just as he did as Mayor of San Diego, where he presided over double-digit decreases in homelessness.
