Chula Vista attorney Dan Smith Diaz has received the Latin American Political Association (LAPA) endorsement for the Chula Vista City Attorney race.
On September 22, 2023, LAPA confirmed Smith Diaz was officially endorsed following a forum with all Chula Vista city attorney candidates, held a week prior.
“The Latin American Political Association is very proud to endorse Dan Smith Diaz for Chula Vista City Attorney,” said Eddie Cervantes, LAPA President. “Dan has well-rounded experience as an attorney and will provide exceptional legal counsel to the City as city attorney.”

Smith Diaz has been an attorney for 33 years, lived in Chula Vista for more than 20 years, and has operated his law firm in the heart of downtown Chula Vista for 11 years. He and his wife, Layla Villegas Smith, are proud to have raised their three children in Chula Vista.
