Rising Fatalities at the Border: The Real World Impact of Democrat Failures and an Unsecure Border in San Diego

Illegal border crossings are a growing concern for many Americans, and recent data from the Mexican Consulate in San Diego reveals that it is having real-world impacts on life in the city. According to the consulate, the number of Mexican nationals dying while trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border near San Diego has risen significantly.

Between October 2021 and September 2022, 46 Mexican nationals died while attempting to cross from Tijuana to San Diego. This number is up from the 34 reported in the previous fiscal year, and way up from the 11 reported three years ago. The primary causes of these deaths include dehydration, drownings, and injuries sustained from border wall falls, which can result in brain damage, broken shoulders, backs, and legs.

These fatalities are a sobering reminder of the real dangers that come with illegal border crossings. With smugglers often putting migrants in harm’s way, it is crucial to secure the border to prevent further loss of life. The safety of San Diego residents and visitors is at stake.

A secure border is about preventing further loss of life and ensuring that those who seek to enter the United States do so legally and safely. Republicans understand the importance of this issue and will continue to advocate for secure borders and immigration reform that keeps Americans safe while welcoming those who seek to enter our country legally.

As we move forward, it is essential to remember that border security is not just a political issue; it is a matter of life and death. We must work together to find solutions that balance the need for security and safety with the need for compassion and fairness.
