The Larry Himmel Foundation has announced they will be paying the fees for the first 20 weddings on Valentine’s Day at the County Administration Center. Along with paying for the license and fees, the Foundation will also be providing roses and a special gift for military couples.
“We know it is expensive living in San Diego, especially for newlyweds,” said Miles Himmel, Founder of the Larry Himmel Neighborhood Foundation. “We want to help share the love with the newlyweds starting out their marriage by providing some assistance.”
The Larry Himmel Neighborhood Foundation is partnering with San Diego County Assessor/ Recorder/ County Clerk, Jordan Marks who in his elected position is the Commission of Civil Marriages will be identifying couples that may need some additional love and assistance with their marriage this Valentine’s Day.
Assessor/ Recorder/ County Clerk Jordan Marks said, “San Diego legendary reporter Larry Himmel was famous for sharing love and laughter and nearly 20 years ago actually married a San Diego Couple at the County building on Valentine’s Day.” Marks continued, this year I’m proud to be partnering with the Larry Himmel Neighborhood Foundation to continue Larry’s legacy of sharing love with free weddings for 20 couples to make their day more memorable.”
