Here’s How Many Hours San Diego Drivers Spend In Traffic Each Year

A new study shows San Diego drivers spend upwards of 54 hours in traffic each year.

According to the INRIX Global Traffic Scorecard for 2022, San Diego ranks 16th out of 25 U.S. cities for time lost sitting in freeway gridlock.

The national average is 51 hours of lost time in traffic.

That’s a 15 hour uptick from 2021.

Here are the top 10 cities for most traffic in the U.S.

  1. Chicago (155 hours lost)
  2. Boston (134 hours)
  3. New York (117 hours)
  4. Philadelphia (114 hours)
  5. Miami (105 hours)
  6. Los Angeles (95 hours)*
  7. San Francisco (97 hours)
  8. Washington, D.C. (83 hours)
  9. Houston (74 hours)
  10. Atlanta (74 hours)
