Poway Winter Festival Seeks to Bring Magic and Charm to the City

By Tristan Teng

This weekend, from January 13 to 14, the Poway Winter Festival will bring fun and free family entertainment to the local community.

On Wednesday, Republican Councilmember Kaylin Frank described the many activities that will be available at the festival, including sledding, marshmallow roasting, a photo booth, and an ice rink. She also discussed a special session taking place at the event on Saturday exclusively for the special needs community.

“A special tradition in Poway has been working with our special needs community and really understanding what they need to enjoy events like this,” Councilmember Frank told KUSI on January 4. She explained that for 1 hour on Saturday afternoon, families with special needs children will get to enjoy the festival by themselves. Councilmember Frank expressed her excitement for the winter festival, “It’s gonna be the best weekend ever, so we hope to see you!”

The Poway Winter Festival will take place at Poway Community Park on Friday, January 13, from 5:00pm-9:00pm, and Saturday, January 14, from 3:30pm-8:00pm. The exclusive session for the special needs community will be held that Saturday from 2:30pm-3:30pm. Parking will be free, and shuttles will be available to and from the event.
