In a September 28th email to Republican-endorsed candidate Jim Kelly, Terry Kohlenberg, one of three candidates, confirmed that he was dropping out of the race for Area 5 of the Grossmont Union High School District. Kohlenberg voiced his support for Kelly, stating “I am confirming with you that I have decided not to run for the board position for area 5 of the Grossmont Union High School District. I fully support you as I believe that you have the best interests of the faculty and students in mind. I also support the recommendation of the Grossmont Educational Association. The Union supports you and I support you. I wish you the greatest success with the upcoming election.”
With Kohlenberg dropping out, Jim Kelly runs against one opponent.
