Escondido Police Officers’ Association Endorses County Supervisor Jim Desmond for Re-Election

August 15, 2022
The Escondido Police Officers’ Association has endorsed Jim Desmond for Re-election to the San Diego County Board of Supervisors in 2022.
“The Escondido Police Officers’ Association (EPOA) strongly endorses Supervisor Jim Desmond for reelection,” said Pat Hall, President of the Escondido POA. “Public safety has always been the first priority for Jim Desmond. As Supervisor, he has opposed the destructive “defund the police” movement. He’s also been a forceful advocate educating parents about the dangers of fentanyl and he leads the effort to stop the placement of dangerous sexually violent predators in North County. Escondido police officers support Supervisor Desmond because we know he will be a trusted partner in protecting Escondido residents,” Hall concluded.
“The support of the Escondido Police Officers’ Association is important to me because of my belief that public safety must be the first priority of local government,” said Desmond.  “I know that the men and women who protect the neighborhoods of Escondido share that objective. I am proud to receive their endorsement and pledge to work closely with them to keep Escondido safe.”
The Escondido Police Officers’ Association is a non-profit organization that represents the 180 sworn men and women of the Escondido Police Department.
