Country Mourns Loss of GOP Congresswoman & Staffers

Jacquelin Walorski, U.S. Congresswoman of Indiana, passed away on August 3rd, 2022 after her SUV lost control and drove into oncoming traffic. Walorski, 58, with two staffers, Zachery Potts, 27, and Emma Thomson, 28, along with the driver of the other vehicle, were all killed in the collision. An open investigation is underway to determine what caused this sudden and tragic event. Walorski is survived by her husband.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy made a statement, “This news is absolutely devastating…Jackie was a dear friend, trusted advisor, and the embodiment of integrity who achieved the admiration and respect of all her colleagues in the House.” Both Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Governor Eric Holcomb of Indiana have instructed that the flags be flown at half-mast until the date of her burial. Of her service, Pelosi added, “She passionately brought the voices of her north Indiana constituents to the Congress, and she was admired by colleagues on both sides of the aisle for her personal kindness.”
