Final Public Hearing On Redistricting To Be Held Tomorrow

The last public hearing on redistricting will be held tomorrow on December 2nd at the San Diego County Office of Education campus in Linda Vista at 5pm. The address for the meeting is 6401 Linda Vista Rd Room 401-402 San Diego, CA 92111.

This will be the last opportunity for citizens to submit their comments and concerns to the redistricting commission. The final approval for adoption of new maps will be two weeks from tomorrow on December 14th. You can still submit comments before the meeting by emailing the IRC (Independent Redistricting Commission) at their email address, redistricting@sdcounty.gov or submit a comment at their website, www.drawyourcommunity.com Comments that the redistricting commission will be looking at are comparisons from the current boundaries to the proposed boundaries, keeping communities of interests (COIs), and where the lines should be drawn.

If you can not attend in person you can join the meeting by Zoom or by phone. The webinar ID for the meeting is 846 0517 4108 and the passcode is 717390. The zoom link can be found on the redistricting website homepage. You may also join by phone at (669) 900-6833. There will be a continued meeting the following day at 10am but this meeting will only be on Zoom but the links and passwords will remain the same as the December 2nd meeting. If you do attend in person the County Office of Education does require masks to enter the building regardless of vaccination status.

We encourage all to attend this meeting whether in person or online to voice your concerns about new maps and any problems you may have with them. If you do not know the proposed map you can find it here: https://districtr.org/plan/87744?portal
