Democrats Go After Christopher Columbus Calling Him ‘Genocidal’

It is that time of the year again, no not Christmas but Columbus Day. Columbus Day used to be about celebrating Christopher Columbus, the explorer who connected the Americas with the Old World. But today, many Democrats have used revisionist history to criticize and slander Columbus and declare a new holiday, “Indigenous People’s Day” a day they claim celebrates the indigenous people of the Americas before Columbus committed what they say is a “genocide” against them.

While this sort of sentiment and idea used to be said behind closed doors among the Democrats, some are saying it out loud. Democrat Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez of New York tweeted, “Today should just be #IndigenousPeopleDay. And yet this day is still shared with a genocidal maniac. We need to take this time to reflect on the brutal history of violence against Indigenous peoples in America and recognize that there is still a lot of work to repair this harm.” Fellow New York rep Hakeem Jeffries, a high ranking member of the Democratic Party tweeted, “Millions of indigenous people lost their lives during the genocide committed against them in the Americas. Today we pause in solemn recognition of this human tragedy”. President Biden himself declared today as “Indigenous Peoples Day”, the first president to do so.

What the Democrats don’t realize is that they are taking a similar position to that of the Ku Klux Klan. The Klan has long been anti-Catholic and fought with the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic organization, over statues of Columbus between the 1920s and 1930s.

Republicans still stand with Columbus and the holiday, with the official House Republicans twitter tweeting out, “It’s called Columbus Day. Pass it on”.
