Socialism Is Now As Popular As Capitalism Among Teens And Young Adults

A 2019 Gallup poll reveals that Socialism is gaining favorability among younger adults, mainly Gen Z’ers and Millenials. For the second time in a row, the term Socialism is nearly tied with Capitalism for the percent of young people with positive views of the terms. Capitalism had a 51% positive view, while Socialism had a 49% positive view.

Young adults often mirror the way the country is headed, in terms of economic systems and policies. Coincidentally, the term “indoctrination” also has seen a spike in searches over the ten-year period this poll took place. Could the rising popularity of Socialism be due to possible indoctrination by large media corporations?

While this may seem like a sure sign that younger generations are going to turn the United States into a socialist state, the other questions asked in this poll tell a different story. For example, the term “Free enterprise” saw a 12% increase in favorability between 2018 and 2019 among younger people.

As a whole, it seems like young people have fallen victim to the lies of the left saying that Socialism will give them everything they can hope for. As the terms “Small business”, “Entrepreneurs”, and “Free enterprise” all have an above 85% positive view among Americans. This proves that despite what the left might say, and what the media is pushing onto teenagers and young adults, most Americans still value the core principles of capitalism above the authoritarian government the left wants to see put in place.
