Biden Proves He is Not in Control of His Presidency

Biden has yet again proven that he either is not in control of his presidency or he does not know his own stances after he announced Monday that he plans to increase refugee admissions from 15,000 to 62,500. After over 100 days in office and only two weeks after his administration said they would keep the limit at 15,000, Joe Biden has decided that not only does he plan to increase the limit to 62,500 by the end of the year, but also more than double that number by the end of 2022.

Extreme progressive and San Diegan congresswoman Sara Jacobs said she is glad that Biden lifted the cap of 15,000 and she looks forward to raising it to 125,000 refugee admissions by the end of next year. According to the National Immigration Forum, California accepted the fourth most refugees in the country in 2018 with 1,370 refugees resettling in our state. Keep in mind this was under the cap President Trump set of 15,000, meaning we accepted roughly 10% of allowed new refugees. If this trend continues and Biden raises the cap to 125,000 refugee admissions we can expect to see at least 10,000 new refugees in California.

Biden himself calls the likelihood of the U.S. being able to bring in 62,500 refugees doubtful, stating “The sad truth is we will not achieve 62,500 admissions this year”. He then goes on to blame President Trump for this. The reasoning behind Joe Biden’s sudden change of heart is the same reason he planned on keeping the limit at 15,000 to begin with, optics. His far-left friends have pressured him into increasing this limit since he announced his campaign, and now that he holds the most powerful office on Earth he has decided to spread America’s resources even more thin as we recover from COVID-19.

Recovering from the pandemic is going to be hard enough alone, but now Biden wants to burden our economy and housing market with over 100,000 new adults each year. Biden cannot stand up for himself or Americans and continues to kneel to the pressure put on him by far-left extremists.
