On April 12th, California GOP Chairwoman Jessica Patterson was locked out of her Twitter account for unknown and unstated suspicious activity.
After coming to realize she could not access her Twitter account, she made several attempts to reset her password and contacted the Twitter Help Center, only to receive a few automated messages and no solutions. She has now filed an appeal with the social media company, to which she also received an automated response.
Despite all of her attempts to try to work to find a solution with the platform, Twitter has been unhelpful and has not even informed Chairwoman Patterson what the alleged suspicious activity was.
This is a clear display of bias on the part of Twitter, similarly seen with their treatment of former President Donald J. Trump when the platform banned him early this year.
Ever since then, Twitter has been building a reputation of silencing Conservative and Republican voices on the platform. In recent days, they also banned James O’Keefe after he released undercover video that was damaging to liberal news network CNN.
Despite silencing conservatives with zero to no basis for doing so, Twitter has remained silent on controversy stirred up by liberals. This week, Congresswoman Maxine Waters incited violence, saying, “We’ve got to stay on the street. We get more active, we’ve got to get more confrontational. We’ve got to make sure that they know that we mean business.”
This statement was so controversial, even CNN published an article on it, titled, “Maxine Waters just made a volatile situation much, much worse.”
Twitter, however, has taken no action against Waters’ account.
Although Chairwoman Patterson’s account is still active, she has no way to access it. “Twitter is very aware of the problem and is unfortunately choosing not to fix the problem” GOP Chairwoman Jessica Patterson stated on Good Morning San Diego.
She went on to compare Twitter’s lack of solving a problem in a timely manner to the lack of leadership from Gov. Gavin Newsom and his untimely manner of vaccine rollouts and unemployment benefits.
She also pointed out Newsom’s hypocritical statements on how he has supposedly has done a great job on reopening schools, when that couldn’t be farther from the truth. “40% of our students still are in remote learning,” argues Patterson.
