Terra Lawson-Remer requests taxpayers pay $135k for consulting services

The agenda for the San Diego County Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday has revealed a shocking request from Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer.

In order to improve her team’s skills, Supervisor Lawson-Remer has asked for a contract for staff development services and strategic planning with Dr. Delores Jacobs, an expert. As part of the contract, Lawson-Remer has requested $85k for media and communication consulting, and $50k for strategic planning consulting.

Considering that both sums of money come straight from the pockets of Californian taxpayers, Supervisor Lawson-Remer’s request is comptley unreasonable.

California is already in a poor economic state as a result of Gov. Newsom’s pandemic lockdowns, and many families are struggling to make ends meet.

For Lawson-Remer to shamelessly request such an exorbitant amount of money for a staff training that could easily be done within a reasonable budget shows how out of touch she is with everyday San Diegans.

Taxpayer money should not be thrown around carelessly, especially in times of financial crisis.
