Migrant says he came to US border because Biden was elected, would not have tried to cross under Trump

In a revealing interview with ABC’s Martha Raddatz, an unidentified South American migrant reported that he “basically” chose to illegally cross the border because of President Biden, and would not have done so under the Trump administration. The migrant arrived at the U.S. border with his wife and three young children.

This interview came to light shortly after Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas appeared on Fox News Sunday and blamed the current border crisis on the Trump administration.

Mayorkas even confidently told Fox News’ Chris Wallace that “The border is secure, the border is closed.”

Despite Mayorkas’ insistence on the Trump administration being to blame, the fact is that President Biden has reversed several key immigration policies that kept the border under control, including a law that required asylum seekers to await court dates in Mexico rather than the US.

For anyone to blame the rapidly worsening situation at the border on former President Trump is completely unreasonable, especially given all of the immigration policy changes already made by the Biden Administration.

Under President Biden, it is becoming increasingly easy to illegally cross the US-Mexico border, which will only lead to more suffering for American taxpayers.

Things have gotten so bad, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is releasing migrants into the US without even so much as a date to appear in court. And the Biden Administration has granted over $85M to CBP to put illegal immigrants in hotel rooms. Taxpayers are paying tens of millions for illegal immigrant hotel rooms, meanwhile, our troops were housed on the concrete floors of parking garages when they were stationed in D.C. for Biden’s inauguration.

The country is dealing with enough internal issues without adding illegal aliens to the mix, and now is the time for the government to prioritize American citizens over all else.
