SACRAMENTO – Senator Patricia Bates (R-Laguna Niguel) thanked the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) for its recent announcements of providing more grants to San Diego and Orange Counties to increase affordable housing.“Ensuring local governments in my district receive their share of state funding is one of my top priorities,” said Senator Bates, the vice chair of the Senate Housing Committee. “I thank the Department of Housing and Community Development for its work to ensure that housing grants are distributed to communities throughout California.”

- County of San Diego, $12,262,010, for rental projects
- Transitional Housing Program (Funding for child welfare services agencies to help young adults aged 18 to 25 years find and maintain housing.)
- County of Orange, $208,000
- County of San Diego, $480,000
- Permanent Local Housing Allocation (Funding for housing-related projects and programs.)
- City of Mission Viejo, $206,683, for transitional housing
- City of Vista, $408,882, for navigation centers and emergency shelters
