The radical left strikes again! Tearing apart America’s childhood seems to be one of the lefts’ new favorite hobbies. From the butter and syrup we use on our pancakes to Mr.Potato Head, the radical left wants to see pillars of most of our childhoods taken down in the name of “political correctness”.
Next on the “chopping block” strikes even closer to home. Dr.Seuss, a longtime resident of San Diego, is now accused of racism and insensitivity in six of his children’s books. Even the corporation tasked with upholding and promoting the legacy of Dr.Seuss has buckled under the pressure of the radical left. Dr. Seuss Enterprises released a statement saying, “These books portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong.” In what world is “If I ran a zoo” racist?
Dr. Seuss Enterprises claims to have worked with a team of “experts” in order to come to the decision on which books should be canceled and which are approved by the ever-burgeoning liberal mob. However, they failed to include their primary target audience in the discussion, children!
Dr. Seuss’ claim to fame is writing age-appropriate children’s books focusing on good morals, environmentalism, and tolerance towards others. In 2017, then-First Lady Melania Trump made a charitable donation of Dr.Seuss books to a library in Massachusetts. The donation was quickly turned away by the librarian, claiming the books were “steeped in racist propaganda, caricatures and harmful stereotypes.”
Where will this madness end? When will the left realize that a book is simply that- a book? Or better yet, when will society stop listening to a small minority of people who find racism in everything and anything? There are no hidden meanings or allusions of racism in books intended for our children in the books written by Dr.Seuss.
