The Rancho Santa Fe School District will be welcoming two new Board Members. Rosemarie Rohatgi and Annette Ross were both first time Republican candidates who were recruited by the party and ran successful campaigns, securing their positions in office.

Rohatgi was introduced to the Rancho Santa Fe School District in 2015, when her son was about to start kindergarten. Due to her passion for the importance of child development and education, Rosemarie and her husband pledged Summa Cum Laude level ($100,000) to the Rancho Santa Fe Educational Foundation, and are Gold Level Community Partners ($5,000) with the foundation. As a member of multiple Board positions throughout her career, such as elected Board Member for the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and Board of Directors for the RSF Community Center, Rohatgi’s leadership experience will translate well into her newest endeavor. Rohatgi’s plans in office include providing individualized growth for students, collaboration among parents, teachers, and administrators, as well as fiscal responsibility.

Ross moved to San Diego from Connecticut in 2013 and both of her daughters are products of the RSF School District, with her youngest currently attending second grade at R. Roger Rowe School. As Board Member, Ross plans to continue the district’s reputation of maintaining a strong curriculum, a good relationship with teachers and staff, as well as fiscal responsibility. After months of COVID-19 restrictions keeping children away from the classroom and hindering their potential, safely reopening schools is one of Ross’s top priorities. On top of that, Ross wants to expand the minds of the students through social and emotional support as well as the development of the school library’s books and materials.

Rohatgi and Ross were each able to run triumphant campaigns with support from the Republican Party of San Diego County. By helping spread the message of these two great candidates through phone banking, knocking on doors, sending out mailers and more, the party helped these candidates to victory. And as a result, the Rancho Santa Fe School district will receive two new board members that possess a passion for providing the best possible education experience for children.
