Joel Anderson and Dustin Trotter are in 2 of the closest elections in San Diego County right now.
For the District 2 Board of Supervisors seat, Anderson is leading his opponent, Poway Mayor Steve Vaus, by 284 votes. Mayor Vaus was leading in the race on election night, but Anderson closed the gap in the days after, and his lead has only continued to grow.
The next race is even closer. Dustin Trotter and Samm Hurst are competing for a seat on the Santee City Council. This race has been neck and neck for weeks. Initially, Hurst was winning by a decent margin, but in the days following the election, Trotter was able to close the gap and take the lead. The two are now only 7 votes apart, down one from the last update.
With 7,500 votes left to be counted, these results are certainly subject to change, but right now this is great news for Republicans. The next update is scheduled for Wednesday, November 25th. The latest results for San Diego County elections can be viewed here.
